The Law Office of Edmond “Buddy” Miller
is a solo practice firm in Reno,
Nevada. Mr. Miller has over 17 years of experience
in private practice.
In addition to serving clients in Northern
Nevada, Mr. Miller’s
clients include businesses and individuals from outside
of the state who have legal matters in Nevada.
Mr. Miller also serves as associate or local counsel with
out-of-state attorneys and law firms in federal, bankruptcy
and state court proceedings pending in Nevada.
Mr. Miller obtained his law degree from the University
of California at Los Angeles in 1987, where he was a member
of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. In 1986 he spent
a semester at the Nevada Supreme Court as a judicial extern
to Justice Charles Springer and also to Justice Clifford
Young.
Mr. Miller was admitted to the Nevada Bar and U.S. District
Court, District of Nevada, in 1987, the California Bar
in 1988, and U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit
in 2003.
In 1987-1988, Mr. Miller served as Law Clerk to the Honorable
Robert M. Schouweiler, District Court Judge for the Second
Judicial District Court for the State of Nevada.
Mr. Miller has been in private practice ever since, practicing
primarily in the areas of business and commercial litigation,
creditor representation in bankruptcy, business debt collections,
including enforcement of judgments, civil litigation matters,
divorces concerning property disputes and probate matters.
Over his years of practice Mr. Miller has had the following
cases published in one of the national reporters or on-line:
- In re Sagewood Manor Associates Limited Partnership,
223 B.R. 756 (Bankr.D.Nev. 1998);
- Fecht v. Decker, 1999 U.S. App. LEXIS 32575, 1999
U.S.App. LEXIS 38110 (6th Cir. 1999);
- In re Pegasus Gold Corp., 275 B.R. 902 (Bankr.D.Nev.
2002);
- In re B.L. of Miami, Inc., 294 B.R. 325 (Bankr.D.Nev.
2003); and
- Montana v. Goldin (In re Pegasus Gold Corp.), 296
B.R. 227 (D.Nev. 2003) (aff’d in part and rev’d
in part by Montana v. Goldin, 394 F.3d 1189 (9th Cir.
2005).
Mr. Miller currently serves on the State
Bar of Nevada’s Continuing Legal Education Publications
Committee.
Mr. Miller is a member of the following legal

Mr.
Miller stays in touch with the business community and
is currently a member of the Reno-Sparks Chamber of
Commerce, the Economic Development Authority of Western
Nevada (EDAWN), and Western Industrial Nevada (WIN).
Mr. Miller was born in Reno, Nevada, in 1953, and grew
up in the neighboring community of Sparks. A two-time
State of Nevada high school wrestling champion, he attended
the University of California at Berkeley on a full-ride
athletic scholarship in wrestling from 1971 to 1975. He
was also a 1971 Fleischmann Foundation Scholar. He
graduated from Cal Berkeley with a B.A. in English in 1976.
From 1979 to 1984 he was a Paramedic in Northern Nevada
after working on an EMT ambulance in Oakland, California. Prior
to that, he worked three fire seasons as a wildland firefighter
for the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District in Washoe
County, Nevada, and also for the East Bay Regional Parks
District in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, California.
After becoming an attorney in private practice,
Mr. Miller had an opportunity to serve from 1992 to 1999
as Board Member with the Regional Emergency Medical Services
Authority (REMSA) of Washoe County, Nevada. He served
as the Attorney Representative for the Board of the Washoe
County District Health Department.
